We explain you our proposal for this hiking getaway in Picos de Europa. We have planned a very special weekend, going up to the Jou de los Cabrones Hut, ideal for exploring the central massif of Picos de Europa. The refuge is small and very simple, but the place where it is located is truly magical. One of the most special places in Picos de Europa.

We tell you our plan for this getaway.

SATURDAY. We arrive at Poncebos and hike to the Jou de los Cabrones refuge, going up via Bulnes and the  Amuesa's Channel.

SUNDAY. Breakfast at the refuge. Depending on the weather and how we agree, we can approach the base of Torrecerredo, or, on the way down, approach the start point of the Piedra Bellida channel. Then we go back down home.

The hikes in the area are typically mountain ones. It is important to have a minimum level of physical fitness and to have no problem doing some simple climbs. However, there may be some variations, depending on the weather and external circumstances.

Here are the technical details of the trip:

• • DATES: 23-24 September.

  • ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation at Refugio Jou de los Cabrones, with dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

  • DEPARTURE: September 23rd Departure option at 7:30 approx. from Gijón and 8:00 from Oviedo.  Any other options, please ask us.

  • RETURN: 24th September. Approximate arrival time in Oviedo at 20:00 and 20:30 in Gijón.

En cuanto a las rutas, en este caso se trata de rutas de alta montaña.  Son rutas sin dificultad técnica importante, aunque requiere ir con atención.  Las rutas superan los 1000 metros de desnivel.
