HIKING IN SLOVAKIA

HIKING TOUR IN SLOVAKIA

Author’s trip to Slovakia. Enjoy a one-week hiking trip with guided tours in Slovakia. From the Tatra Mountains to the Slovenian Paradise. From the Mala Fatra to the World Heritage Wooden Churches.

Slovakia is perhaps one of those little gems for hiking and cultural discovery that exist in the Central European context. This makes Slovakia an ideal destination for the Asturian Ways travel model, in which we love to combine hiking, nature and the discovery of a rich cultural heritage that helps us to see with different eyes this little piece of the world in which we live.

We have planned this trip in two versions. One more mountainous and the other more trekking. In both we combine nature and culture, walking and discovering. So that, whichever option you choose, you can enjoy the riches of this small Central European country to the full.

HIKING AND NATURE IN SLOVAKIA

Despite being one of the smallest countries in Europe, it has 9 national parks and enviable nature conservation conditions. Perhaps the best known area is the Tatra Mountains, which with their three massifs (Western Tatras, Central Tatras and White Tatras) form an impregnable border with Poland.

Although its mountains are not very high – the highest peak is 2,655 metres – its national parks are dominated by high mountain environments, and in fact there are many impassable areas that are closed to hiking for much of the year. All the more reason to plan your trip well…

HISTORY AND SLOVAKIAN TRADITIONS

Slovakia is an exotic destination, with important medieval remains and remains from the time of the Hungarian kingdom.

It also has an important cultural and popular heritage, with beautiful villages and churches where wood is a singular construction element.

At present, Slovakia has 8 World Heritage Sites, of which we will visit at least three of them.
