Picos de Europa National Park, the oldest one in Spain, is one of the most famous mountainous areas in Spain, and it also has a recognized reputation abroad. This is not by chance as its mountains, strong slopes and hard and amazing trekking routes can make you feel like if you were in a lunar landscape. Being up there, you will be able to touch a sea of clouds with your own fingers, and you will be impressed by the ability of local people to survive in these lands and preserve their traditions.

From the “bufones” and the inland beaches of the east, to the seafaring villages and hidden beaches of the west, we will tour Asturias from cliff to cliff, enjoying nature, the seafaring villages and their traditions.

THEME TRAVEL

Among the northern territories of the Peninsula there are strong natural, social, climatic, cultural, historical and gastronomic strong ties.

We propose theme trips, to travel along the north of the peninsula following a singular theme. Indeed, we will not fail to enjoy any other wonder that we might encounter on the way. The following routes are available:

PREHISTORIC - PRE-ROMAN WAY

The Palaeolithic parietal art of the north of the peninsula is as relevant as the French Atlantic one. It is also known worldwide. In fact, it has been declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.

We propose you to visit the caves of Santimamiñe, Covalanas, Castillo, Altamira, Tito Bustillo, Candamo or El Pindal among others. Futhermore, the Neolithic fortified settlements in the north of the peninsula are really important and worth visiting. Some examples of it the Village Cantrabro of the iron age in Argüeso, the Castro de Boal, The Castro de San Chuis, or the immense archaeological Galician heritage.

ROMANIC WAY

Singular examples of Romanesque art and other unique or very important art styles appeared during the Middle Ages in the north of the Peninsula. Some examples are the Asturian Pre-Romanesque art, the Cantabrian collegiate and the Mozarabic churches in Cantabria and El Bierzo (León).

TRANSCANTABRIC WAY

Trekking route that crosses the Cantabrian mountain range on horseback between Asturias, León and Cantabria. Just for trekking-routes fans!!!
